2020-08-19"They said that my stuff took up more room on the truck than was calculated by Unpakt’s online inventory formula. So they said I would need to pay over 1600$ more when my stuff is delivered to my destination address. I told them that my inventory of stuff matched what I had put on the unpakt site inventory and was guaranteed a price and therefore shouldn’t need to pay more. I was able to negotiate the additional charge to be 300$. However, the fact that I will need to pay at all above the amount charged by unpakt is unacceptable and not warranted. I feel that this moving company took advantage of me since I was a single women moving alone during the pandemic, and since I was not able to go see the truck after they loaded my stuff, I was forced to take their word for the space taken on the truck by my stuff. I feel like they took advantage of the fact that I was not in able to verify their claim about space. In the current context of the pandemic, I think businesses who act in this manner and try to take advantage of honest and vulnerable customers is unacceptable and morally deprived..many of us do not have jobs any longer and are being forced to move. Therefore, to force customers to pay more beyond the agreed upon price is wrong and a terrible business practice. I have yet to receive my stuff, and am nervous that they will ask for more money beyond the extra 300$ in order for me to get my stuff back. I would not recommend this company to anyone"

2017-06-27"My initial mover did not show and American Movers was the mover who was able to move me within a couple of days. The movers were very nice and professional. The first set left their used rolls of tape all over the house but were otherwise great. Taped my plastic bins up for me. The second set were great. They placed everything where I wanted and cleaned up afterwards. Had an item missing that was noticed right away, the owner called me several days later and sent a check to replace the item. Service was very good, only a few things would have made it better. Furniture was covered in dust/dirt and mattress was not covered but luckily I put fitted sheets on both sides. Movers quoted a different delivery date than Unpakt gave, but Unpakt was able work with the mover to help me move the date a little earlier (later than the Unpakt date, but earlier than mover quoted date). Communication with the company was good."

2017-04-04"Their profile says they have been in business for 14 years, if so, I'm not sure how. When I called, I "think" I spoke to the dispatcher- Corina. Each time I asked her a question, she had to put me on hold and ask someone else. Even then, the answer was "we'll let you know," which they never did. This company may be very good at other types of moves, but I cannot recommend them for an interstate move nor can I compliment their customer service. Here are some other highlights of this move: 1. I was asked to provide my "ready date," but it was never explained how this info was used to determine when my belongings would be delivered. In the end, it was not factored in, because they took the entire estimated time, plus an additional day, to deliver. 2. After several requests for information about my move and delivery date, I was finally told that my belongings were being loaded on Monday, 4/17 and I would hear from the driver for my delivery date. The driver called on SATURDAY 4/22 to discuss my delivery date, It took 5 days to load my belongings? 3. I know when I first booked the move that the estimated delivery time was 3-10 days. Once I booked the move, it became 3-14 business days. 14 business days is THREE WEEKS. I would have never used this company with that long of an estimated delivery time."
