"The movers did not provide an ETA until the day before the move even though we repeatedly called them asking for timing since we were not in town. We had to scramble to get someone to be available day of and then they originally said they would be there between 8am and 10am only to find out that they would change it to be between 5pm and 7pm and then didn't arrive until after 7pm. More importantly, there's A BOX MISSING with over $300 worth of brand new medical books that are needed for study, a missing Mirror and the full base of teh floor lamp. The movers also broke a bookcase in half, dropped off someone else's mirror and someone else's box, and damaged a desk and other pieces of furniture. They didn't build out the furniture they said they would and didn't drop off the boxes in the appropriate rooms as labeled. We demand a full refund. Avoid these movers at all costs."

"Extremely slow for the move. The movers took multiple breaks for lunch / smoking. The first move we did through unpakt took 3 hours end of end for pickup, and this time it took 9 hours (we didn't have much more stuff)."

"It was an excellent experience. The movers were delayed by traffic for an hour. But they informed me promptly about the delay and kept me updated. Once they reached, they were quick and professional in their work. They double sealed the boxes we had already packed, shrink wrapped the furnitures on top of blankets and handles themselves very professionally. I will definitely recommend them to anyone"

"the movers were a little late but they were fast once they got there, and very polite, and professional. My only concern was that they said up to 18 days for delivery but the average was more like 5 or 10, and to call AFTER they picked up my stuff to get a more accurate eta. When I did call 2 days later to get a more accurate estimate they 1) seemed surprised I was calling, even after I told them I was told to call after the stuff was picked up for a more accurate estimate, and then was told 2) that it was up to 18 days from the pick up date, which was the same info I had before hand. Also - there's all this stuff about it taking longer because of the pandemic, but it's - you know - a truck. So - people go in the truck and drive across country - it's a 4 day drive from NY to NV, and as far as I know there's no pandemic checkpoints/road-blocks. No one has explained why the pandemic is making shipping my boxes across country take longer and while I expect a moving company puts in a buffer period, I mean, google says that without stops the driving time is 1 day 13 hours. That's 37 hours. If the truck drives for 8 hours per day that's 4.62 days (5 days). That was what the woman said to me was about average when I asked what a realistic time would be, then she said to allow a couple more days for Covid (which I thought was weird, but ok, sure fine). So say - 7 days. THAT seems reasonable. But - even after 2 days their best arrival estimate was 18 days after pickup. Unless they are giving my boxes a tour of Saskatchewan, I don't think that 18 days is very realistic. One small thing about the movers - both Unpakt and Velocity said I'd only pay for what was moved, and while we were pretty good with our estimate we were off a bit. Not only off on adding MORE things (we had more boxes) what we were much more off on was on removing things, we had a lot less furniture and less items for them to pack. They were acting pretty confused and surprised, but you see we were scheduled the day after labor day and we finished up a large % of the packing that weekend, so we couldn't call/update anyone with the new figures before the 8am arrival time on that tuesday."

"The guys (velocity moving) who picked up my stuff in nyc were good. However the company in Durham (white glove) NEVER gave me a 24 hour notice, and were two days late in delivery my stuff, costing me two nights of hotel stay and two days of work. In the meantime I always had to call to get an update, they never called me to let me know anything"

"They could have done better. On moving day, they came a bit late and asked for a specific tip amount, which I didn't care for. Whenever I tried to ask any questions about items, my questions were waved away with generic comments about there being nothing to worry about. I found a broken piece on the ground near the bed and they quickly said it wasn't them and wasn't their fault. While the movers who delivered the items were nice, items had clearly moved from one truck to another and then had to be moved again to get to my apartment complex. All this led to several broken items. Worst of all, the bed was missing pieces making it impossible to reassemble. I'm now going to have to deal with their claIMS process and doubt my bed will ever be properly assembled."

"This has been the WORST moving experience of my entire life, and I am not exaggerating. We received our items today and the damage is listed in thousands of dollars: our sofa is wet, discolored and stained, mirrors are broken, every single piece of furniture is scratched or damaged, there is a hole punched in one of the desks, all the boxes are warped and broken and a lot of our glassware is smashed to pieces. I cannot understand how velocity could be so incredibly reckless with our things, I am beyond devastated."

"Velocity Moving and Storage performed well at both ends of the move. They were friendly and efficient. There was no breakage or damage to my stuff. I have one small complaint -- I did not read the small print regarding tipping. I have moved numerous times with the federal government (contact moves). I am not familiar with the concept of tipping movers. I was very uncomfortable with the crew's attitude that I was at fault for not tipping. This was especially ridiculous since they were 3 hours late - which they did not acknowledge when they discussed that I was not going to provide a tip."
